Description

This session will explore new therapies using cord blood applied to a variety of neurological disorders, including spinal cord injury. Promising results and outcomes have been reported for patients with severed or crushed spinal cords.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe recent developments in treating spinal cord injury with allogeneic umbilical cord blood.
  • Evaluate how cord blood is used and describe new regenerative medicine applications.
  • Explain a potential mechanism for efficacy of cord blood for spinal cord injury.
