ST4-27: AABB Standards and Accreditation in Plain English

Description

This is an interactive session to discuss AABB standards and accreditation and their importance. Attendees will interact with the directors of both standards and accreditation and be able to ask questions and discuss their own practices and issues 

Attendees will understand how standards are written and who writes the standards. They will understand their part in standards setting and how they can participate.

There will be a discussion of accreditation and the difference between the AABB and the other accrediting agencies. Attendees will understand the accreditation philosophy of peer review for performance improvement.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discover the AABB Accreditation philosophy of peer review for performance improvement
  • Explain how standards are written and why they are constructed the way they are put together
  • Question and interact with the AABB standards and accreditation directors
