TU3-23: Positives, Pitfalls and Perfections in the Selection, Implementation and Validation of New Automation for the Blood Bank

Description

This program will address the criteria to select equipment for new automation and how to complete a vendor selection process including listing all important and unique criteria that is necessary for complete and proper selection.  It will also include planning and executing the delivery and physical installation of new equipment as well as preparation necessary for validation, training and competency and how to perform those processes 

All 3 speakers will include discussions of pitfalls and successes within their areas of expertise – vendor selection, installation to include IQCP and validation.

Learning Objectives:

  • Compose and define criteria necessary to select automated equipment. Discuss positives and pitfalls of this process.
  • Organize and discuss criteria needed for validation of selected equipment. Discuss positives and pitfalls of this process.
  • Plan for delivery acceptance and installation of equipment. Discuss pitfalls and positives of this process.
