Dr. Sean Stowell MD, PhD

Assistant Professor, Emory University School of Medicine

Dr. Stowell received his PhD and MD degrees at Emory University, where he is now an assistant professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in the divisions of Clinical Pathology and Experimental Pathology. Dr. Stowell oversees the clinical apheresis unit at Emory University Hospital and runs a highly productive research laboratory. He has authored 70 peer-reviewed manuscripts in his short career. Dr. Stowell’s research seeks to integrate glycobiology, immunology, microbiology and transfusion medicine to answer fundamental questions that reside at the key interface of these disciplines to positively impact the fields of transfusion medicine, autoimmunity, and infectious diseases.
