Celina Montemayor-Garcia MD, PhD

Dr. Montemayor Garcia earned her MD degree in Monterrey, Mexico, and she holds a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas. She is board-certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine by the American Board of Pathology. She completed her clinical and research Transfusion Medicine fellowship at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 2017, and she subsequently joined the NIH Clinical Center staff as an Assistant Clinical Investigator in the Department of Transfusion Medicine. At the NIH, Dr. Montemayor led research efforts to create open-source bioinformatic resources that translate genomics data into a precise blood type. Dr. Montemayor joined Canadian Blood Services' Centre for Innovation staff in August 2020.
