COL Christopher Lee Evans is a distinguished military officer with 25 years of dedicated service. He currently serves as the Director of the Army Blood Program, a role he assumed after his tenure as the Laboratory Capability Manager at the Medical Capability Development and Integration Directorate (MED CDID) at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. A licensed Medical Technologist specializing in Blood Banking, COL Evans holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Master's in Immunohematology from George Washington University. He is also a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Army War College and is certified by the Association of Certified Clinical Pathologists (ASCP). Throughout his career, COL Evans has held numerous key leadership positions. He has commanded the 440th and 153rd Blood Support Detachments, deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn. He has also served as the Director of the Armed Services Blood Bank Center-Pacific Northwest, the Korean Area Joint Blood Program Director, and the EUCOM/AFRICOM Joint Blood Program Officer at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany. Most recently, he deployed as the US CENTCOM Joint Blood Program Officer. COL Evans's exemplary service has earned him numerous awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge. He is married to his wife, Nakia, and they have a son, Xavier, and a daughter, Soraya.
