Joe Chaffin MD

Dr. Chaffin is a graduate of the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, CA. He served his country for nine years as an Army physician, primarily practicing Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Chaffin has an extensive background in hospital pathology and Transfusion Medicine, including practice at multiple hospitals in Northern Colorado and, most recently, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. He is a board-certified Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine specialist and is widely known for his educational efforts through his award-winning personal website, “Blood Bank Guy” (www.bbguy.org). Dr. Chaffin is the primary Transfusion Medicine educator for a national pathology board review course.
