Dr. Joel Addams was the section chief of transfusion medicine/blood bank at Banner University Medical Center Tucson between 2022 and 2024 when the formation of new hospital committees was paramount in educating staff in the post-Covid years on safety mechanisms, as well as initiating the first trainee-Eed utilization and education committee. His interests in patient blood management, massive transfusion protocol, and coagulation have continued at the University of Utah, including a nascent trainee-Eed committee.
