Lisa Hensch MD

Dr. Hensch received her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in 2011 and completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at UTMB in 2015. She then completed fellowship in Transfusion Medicine and Blood Banking at Baylor College of Medicine. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Transfusion Medicine and Coagulation at Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine. Her primary research interests include developing evidence-based strategies for safe transfusion in the pediatric patient population. She is also actively involved in several research projects regarding hemostasis in ECMO patients and coagulation testing. In addition, she serves as the Medical Director for Perioperative Coagulation for the Pediatric Anesthesia Screening Service and as the Associate Medical Director of the Blood Bank at Texas Children's Hospital. Dr. Hensch is board certified in blood banking/transfusion medicine and anatomic and clinical pathology.
