Massimo Mangiola PhD

Dr. Mangiola holds a Ph.D. in Clinical and Experimental Immunology from the University of Genoa (Italy) and is an Associate of the American College of Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics (ACHI). Dr. Mangiola has more than 15 years of experience in Transplant Immunology. In the United States, Dr. Mangiola has trained at Tufts Medical Center (Boston, MA) and has directed or co-directed HLA laboratories in Boston, Providence, and Pittsburgh. Currently, Dr. Mangiola is a Clinical Associate Professor and the NYU Langone Immunogenetics Laboratory Director at the Transplant Institute of the NYU Langone Health in New York City. Dr. Mangiola has served in several committees, is the current Scientific Curator of the HLA Eplet Registry, is active in research and has published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Mangiola is actively investigating the role of molecular HLA mismatch in solid organ transplantation and the immunological barriers to porcine xenotransplantation.
