Melanie Wooten MD

Dr. Melanie Wooten serves as an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Clinical Science Educator at the AU/UGA Medical Partnership in Athens, GA. She received her MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed her CP residency at Emory University, where she also completed fellowships in Hematopathology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine. Prior to her role at the Medical Partnership, she served as Medical Director of the Alabama and Mississippi, and Tennessee Regions for the American Red Cross. She has co-authored a book chapter and several journal articles, presented at regional, national, and international meetings, and is extremely passionate about medical education.
