Randi has had a distinguished career as a clinical leader and innovator in emergency and trauma care, including more than 20 years of experience in military medicine. In her last roles before retirement Randi served as Chief of Clinical Operations for the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resole, where she led development and implementation of OIR-wide prehospital blood program, then as Chief of Emergency Nursing at Ft Hood. Randi subsequently served as Director of Research for the Southwest Texas Advisory Council (STRAC), she helped develop and lead the first civilian prehospital blood program in the US. Randi now serves as one of the founding members of the national Prehospital Blood Transfusion Initiative Coalition, and has help create the North Carolina Prehospital Blood Coalition. She has recently conducted the first detailed survey of EMS blood programs in the US, and is dedicated to helping grow the effectiveness of prehospital trauma care through numerous educational initiatives.
