DR. MEGHAN DELANEY received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Washington School of Public Health in Seattle, Washington. Dr Delaney is the Chief of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Children’s National Health System based in Washington, DC. The Division performs vital diagnostic testing and interpretation services for all divisions at Children’s National Health System, including Children’s regional outpatient centers, and mobile health units in the greater Washington, DC, area. A Diplomate of the American Board of Pathology with certification in transfusion medicine/blood banking and clinical pathology, Dr. Delaney is an active member of several professional societies. She serves on the AABB Board of Directors and as Chair of the American Society of Apheresis Applications Committee Pediatric Subcommittee. She is a Scientific Member of the BEST Collaborative and is a member of the American Board of Pathology Test Development and Advisory Committee. Dr. Delaney is an Associate Editor for the journal Transfusion Medicine and a member of the editorial board of Transfusion. Dr Delaney’s clinical and scholarly focus is on transfusion medicine, pediatric transfusion medicine and testing for blood that is difficult to match. She has over 70 scientific publications, over 15 book chapters, numerous review articles and invited lectures nationally and internationally. In global health, she focuses on medical education and sustainable technology development in developing nations.
