Dr. Reik has served as Chief Medical Officer for OneBlood, Inc. from 2012 to the present. In that role she oversees OneBlood's team of board-certified Transfusion Medicine physicians and the operational areas of Therapeutic Apheresis, Cellular Therapy, Research and Education. She has represented OneBlood on the FDA/NHLBI sponsored Transfusion-transmissible Infection Monitoring System (TTIMS) since its inception. Dr. Reik also served from 2019 to 2023 as Chief Medica Officer for America's Blood Centers, the national trade association representing U.S. blood centers which collect about 60% of the national blood supply. She is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, as well as Blood Banking/ Transfusion Medicine, and Forensic Pathology. Dr. Reik's past experience includes serving as Senior Medical Officer for American Red Cross Biomedical Services at its national headquarters in Washington, DC. She was also ARC's Chief Medical Officer of the Pacific NW region and Director of National Operations for the Center for Cell Therapy. In addition, Dr. Reik served as Vice-Chair of the Department of Pathology at Memorial Regional Medical Center, a large public healthcare system serving Fort Lauderdale and Broward County. She was also Director of Transfusion Medicine Serices for the system's six hospitals. She serves on several national and international committees in the field of transfusion medicine and has authored papers on pediatric pathology, AIDS, new emerging diseases and their significance to the blood supply, including the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Dr. Reik is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She received her specialty trainings at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center and Broward County Medical Examiners Office.
