Susan Nahirniak MD, FRCPC

Dr. Susan Nahirniak obtained her undergraduate Medical Laboratory Science and Medical Degrees as well as her Hematopathology certification at the University of Alberta. She currently serves as the Medical Director for the provincial Transfusion and Transplantation Medicine program in Alberta Precision Laboratories and the Laboratory Medicine & Pathology North Sector Associate Medical Director. She is a member of the Alberta Blood Office Collaborative (ABOC), Canada's National Advisory Committee on Blood and Blood Products (NAC); the International Collaborative for Transfusion Medicine Guidelines (ICTMG), the Canadian Transfusion Trials Group (CTTG), the Canadian Standards Association Technical Committee on Blood and the Women & Children’s Health Research Institute (WCHRI). These committee involvements and her research interests focus on improving the appropriateness and quality of transfusion medicine
