Hlaing Tint MD

The University of Texas Health Science Center , McGovern Medical School

Dr. Tint completed his medical degree at Institute of Medicine Mandalay at Mandalay, Burma followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at the St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. He was then trained at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas for his Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine Fellowship. After his fellowship training, he joined McGovern Medical School, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston as an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Dr. Tint was promoted to associate professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. He serves as Medical Director for the hemotherapy service at the Memorial Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center. He is the founding program director of Transfusion Medicine/Blood Bank fellowship training program at Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, The University of Texas, McGovern Medical School at Houston. His clinical and research interests focus on topics of Coagulations, Transfusion Management and Plasmapheresis especially in settings of ECMO/ LVAD/ cardiac and lung transplant including Heparin Induced Thrombocytopenia. Dr. Tint has published over 15 peer-review articles, review articles, book chapters and books on these topics.
