Minh-Ha Tran is dual-boarded in internal medicine and blood banking/transfusion medicine. He serves as the Division Director of the UCI Transfusion Medicine Service. During his tenure, he successfully wrote and defended a business plan to establish the UCI Campus Blood Donor Center, which has now been in continuous operation for over 12 years. More recently, Dr. Tran served in the core working group that established the UCI Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Program, which achieved FACT accreditation in 2022 and has grown significantly since inception in 2020. Dr. Tran serves as the Medical Director for the UCI Apheresis Collection Facility recognized by FACT. In addition, the UCI Transfusion Medicine Service serves a Level I Trauma Center and oversees a therapeutic apheresis program. Dr. Tran has numerous publications in the fields of transfusion medicine, hematology, and hemostasis/coagulation.
